My own Turtles (Shieldpads)

Summer 2005 i sold the two turtles. Why? Because they were becoming to large for the aquarium i had, and also they made a lot of mess in the water!
The person who bought them puts them in a pond in the summer. So they are much better of now :)

Despite all discouraging words from like........everyone, i bought 2 baby turtles on July 26th 2003.
I got an aquarium with pump for free. So I only had to buy the turtles (once) and food (too often).

I still don't regret getting them! :)

btw i call them shieldpads because someone called them that way and i thought its kinda funny. It's the direct translation of a turtle in dutch. so there you go.

Both turtles grow quite fast. One is clearly bigger than the other. the right one on these pictures couldn't sit still.
    

Their shields are about 10cm and 9,5cm

Here you can see how the aquarium is placed. Yes its on top of my furnace. and yes that means i never use that! :)
